I’m amazed that the goblins in The Hobbit managed to recognize Orcrist and Glamdring on sight. That’s two swords from Gondolin, which have been lying around in some hoard since the First Age. The Third Age goblins must have a really good public education system.

Their social studies program is lacking but they have a really good module on History Of Things That Could Stab You.

why is this my most popular post, still wandering around after 2 years and 11k notes. apparently this is the best thing I ever created, lol.

“Many of the artists in the database were self-taught, barred from seeking formal training or studying anatomy on account of their gender. They could not hope to make a living from their talents when women were forbidden from issuing invoices.”

Speaking of things I drew a while ago but didn’t get scanned and posted to the internet, I give you Aman Dance Party, part 1. I think the colors on this one came out particularly well, though some of the detail in the linework was lost in the coloring, so I’m very pleased with myself overall.

A headcanon you will pry from my cold dead fingers is that Feanor has the very annoying habit of 1. almost never bothering to dress appropriately for any given occasion while 2. always managing to look fabulous. So here we have Feanor who threw a nice shirt on over the shit he was already wearing, which is why his boots ten million percent clash with the rest of his outfit. That was intentional. Neardanel, on the other hand, does dress for fancy parties, but I am also firmly of the opinion that elves have the concept of fancy dress pants.

Alucard is such a decent person that I almost feel bad that he’d reminded me of Annatar before I’d watched Castlevania. It’s the hair and the golden eyes, but the resemblance is totally superficial and he deserves better than such a comparison, lol.

WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT PRO WRITING AID BEFORE?! THIS THING IS FUCKING GLORIOUS. HOLY SHIT. LOOK AT THIS.

IT GIVES YOU A WHOLE DAMN REPORT ON YOUR WRITING AND WALKS YOU THROUGH HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER AND WHY IT IS SUGGESTING CHANGES. THIS IS JUST A TINY CHUNK OF THE HUGE REPORT IT GAVE ME ON THE FIRST CHAPTER OF ONE OF MY PROJECTS. I AM IN LOVE.

AND IT WORKS WITH SCRIVENER. AND IT IS AFFORDABLE.

WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME?!

Seriously, a couple hours with this and my first chapter is so much better. It helped me see problems I KNEW I had (passive voice, showing vs. telling, adverbs) but was having a hard time sussing out. It has made editing so much more fun and easy because now I know what the hell I’m doing and what to look for instead of stumbling around blind shouting “adverbs? adverbs?” like a town crier. I can already tell I’m getting better at seeing things without the program having to show me too.

I officially worship this thing.

it’s ProWritingAid in case anyone missed it
